Feminism- a paradigm of forward thought or a haven for misandry and discrimination?

An In-depth Analysis

Egalitarianism is a particularly intricate word to which the majority of people align themselves to without realising it. It means simply, that one holds the belief that all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities. Feminism in the Oxford English Dictionary is ‘the advocacy of women’s rights on the grounds of equality of the sexes.’ Feminism came into being in the late 1800’s in England; it started with the suffragette movement, then the vote, then the Equal Pay Act (1970). Feminism gained political equality, contraception, control over how we dress and our own sexuality, but has it become a refuge for misandry and discrimination towards the ‘stronger’ male sex? And is feminism still relevant for the 21st century modern, western female?
