Jeremy Corbyn alleged that evening socialisation is discriminatory against women as they have to go home to look after children. He made this statement after launching his equality manifesto. The manifesto aims to challenge outdated stereotypes, he proposes a more stringent implementation of harassment laws, Corbyn also sees to extend the current three-month limitation period for sex/maternity discrimination accusations, he also aims to abolish fees in employment tribunals. The manifesto follows an open letter from forty-four female Labour MP’s condemning the party leader for the threats made by his supporters. Was his comment on social drinking, in any way, justified?
