Should Donald Trump be the Next President of the United States?

A new dawn or a return to regressive politics?

The definite marmite candidate of the 2016 presidential election, it has been difficult to avoid the name “Donald Trump” over the last year. Entering the largest field of candidates in US election history during the primaries, Trump swept to victory, far beating his main rival Ted Cruz for the Republican presidential nomination. With his official slogan “Make American Great Again”, Trump’s campaign has focused on illegal immigration, Islamic terrorism and the off-shoring of US employment opportunities. His supporters say he is speaking up for a forgotten demographic of Americans. Yet many others argue Trump’s rhetoric is racist and sexist, and he is stirring up the worst populist sentiments in the American people. So, should this wealthy businessman be the next president of the United States?
