Entering the largest field of candidates in US election history during the primaries, Trump swept to victory, far beating his main rival Ted Cruz for the Republican presidential nomination. With his official slogan “Make American Great Again”, Trump’s campaign has focused on illegal immigration, Islamic terrorism and the off-shoring of US employment opportunities. His supporters say he is speaking up for a forgotten demographic of Americans.
