Should Andrea Leadsom become the next leader of the Conservative party?

An in-depth Analysis

As of July 2016, Andrea Leadsom is a candidate for the leadership of the Conservative party- running alongside of Theresa May, Michael Gove, Stephen Crabb and, Liam Fox. She is backed by Penny Mordaunt, Tim Loughton, Tom Pursglove, William Wragg and, Chris Heaton-Harris. In the late evening of the 2nd of July, Leadsom asserted she had the support of 50 MP’s, still this figure is growing. Leadsom has also been happy to be compared to Margaret Thatcher: ‘As a person, she was always kind and courteous and as a leader she was steely and determined. I think that’s an ideal combination – and I do like to think that’s where I am’, she said. But is she the ideal candidate for the Conservative party?
